ศัพท์ทางการแพทย์ เรียกว่า Hordeolum

ตากุ้งยิง (Hordeolum) เกิดจากการติดเชื้อแบคทีเรีย โดยมักเกิดบริเวณเปลือกตาด้านบนและเปลือกตาด้านล่าง ทำให้มีอาการเจ็บปวดตรงที่เป็นตุ่มหรือหนอง

Doctor: "What brought you to the hospital today?"

(คุณเป็นอะไรถึงมาโรงพยาบาลค่ะ)

Patient: "I had a stye on my right eye this morning."

(ฉันมีตากุ้งยิงที่ตาขวาตั้งแต่เช้า)
